Our client is a leading manufacturer of industrial use chain. They are looking for a Derby based Technical Sales Engineer. The role is an office based role with at least four days in our clients UK Head office. The company is predominantly internationally focused (Central and South America, Caribbean, Australia, Asia and others).
It is a growth stage in our clients business, trying to break into new markets and expand on existing ones. They are having some success and are reaching a point of needing additional resources to support the existing technical sales team.
The role is a specialised position whereby the candidate needs knowledge of the chain industry, knows many of the products, and is ideally competent on Solidworks CAD. Computer abilities and good communication skills are a given.
- Proactive support for accounts.
- Maintain good relationships with new and existing customers including distributors, OEMs and end users, making regular contact by visiting and telephone.
- Undertake site visits to customer’s when required.
- Act as a main communication route between our client and their UK customers and between the market and our client.
- Update the company CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system with records of activities, customer contact information and status on a daily / weekly basis.
- Complete and submit reports and admin work promptly as and when required.
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures and standards are adhered to.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

The key to this is experience in the chain industry, where there is familiarity with chain types, sprockets and peripheral products.
